The Community Coach Developer course is designed for coaches with an advanced coaching qualification who want to help develop future coaches in the community space. The 3 part course guides the coach through the skills and knowledge required to deliver coaching courses in the community. Held in an in-person format the course is run regionally by the federations on a yearly basis.
Part 1. Whether you are working with future coaches of juniors, youth or seniors, part 1 supports the coach developer to develop skills that allow learning to occur on their courses. Questions like how to adults learn and how do I facilitate group learning and discussions are answered during this section of the course.
Part 2. On part 2 the coach developer is led through course specific knowledge for the fundamentals and level 1 junior and youth coaching courses.
Part 3. On part 3 the coach developer is led through course specific knowledge for the level 2 and senior level 1 coaching courses.
Once the coach developer has completed all components of the Community Coach Developer Course they will be qualified to deliver community courses throughout New Zealand. It is also the first step in the pathway to becoming an advanced coach developer.
