Have you ever considered becoming a referee? It’s an often-overlooked pathway by players & coaches, particularly women and girls – but that’s beginning to change.
Come along to English Park, find out what its like to be a referee, learn some of the new rules and have a go with a flag or whistle.
Refereeing is a brilliant way to stay involved in our game. It teaches you leadership skills, the ability to communicate with influence and keeps you fit. Better yet, it offers rewarding opportunities and has the potential to open pathways to an exciting long-term career.
If you’ve considered stepping into the world of refereeing, or are keen to learn more, Mainland Football encourages you to attend our upcoming Girls & Women’s Referee Workshop.
We also strongly encourage current and former female referees to attend as there will be great insights from experienced referees and the opportunity to learn from some of the best in a fun and social atmosphere.
The evening’s key focus areas will be:
- The referee pathway & opportunities
- Basic rules and football understanding
By attending you will complete the required learning for the NZF Community Referee Qualification
